Welcome to Alex's
Hunter Pace Photo page
Skyline Amateur Radio club has been assisting the
Tioughnioga
Ruritan Hunter Pace benefit as safety spotters for several years. In Oct 2007
I started participating as a field spotter for the event. Located in the hills
of Deruyter NY,( Linklin Center ) It's been a lot of fun, and well worth having
to get up at 5 am to make sure to get there by 8am. I think that as long as they
keep having us there to help support the event I'll keep coming. It's also nice
to spend some "quiet" time in the woods. I've wondered why I hadn't participated
before
Having never been to one of these before, not really being a Horse type person,
not knowing what to expect, and since my camera usually never leaves my side (
well most of the time ) on road trips, I figured I'd snap a few pictures for practice
and fun. Jeff & Jill Higgins were great in sending me to various spots over
the last 3 events I've participated in. So I've been learning as I go.
I had gotten a new camera ( Nikon D40 ) one week before the August 08 pace. So
I'm still learning the camera features and functions. So some of the photos didn't
come out as good as I would have liked, so I'm working on fixing them over the
next few weeks.
Here are the results of those events so far. I've decided to have 2 links to
each event. The first is the link to the best (some of which still need some
work), the other is the link to "ALL" the photos taken that day. Even including
the ones where I've just played with some of the camera features.
